What exactly is a Deus?

The Deus is basically your character. Sort of like a cross between a pokemon trainer and a mecha pilot. Your Deus is just a human but when they wear the control visor and enter the "Angelic Layer" they and their doll become so much more. In the anime they wear the visor and can control the dolls with their thoughts. This is not VR, they do not see from the doll's perspective. It's more like a video game where you have control over a character and everything is displaced. However...some fighters will obviously want to go for the first person aspect and others just may not be able to adjust to a third person point of view in their fighting style. Because of this fighters will be allowed to choose how their Deus controls his/her Angel.

Example of a post styled after the anime's control type:
Hiryu received the damage readout from his visor and decides it's time for a change of strategy. His Angel, Talon, reacts to his mental commands by channeling energy into his dark power chip. "Shadow Snap!" A wave of inky blackness lashes out from Talon's hand to slam into his opponent.

Example of same post written in VR style:
The impact sends Hiryu reeling, reminding him that as Talon he has a low resistance to damage. 'Time to try things from a different angle' he thinks as he channels energy into his dark power chip. "Shadow Snap!" Talon extends his arm and a wave of inky blankness lashes out from his hand to slam into his opponent.

As you can see there isn't any real difference...just how it's written.

What exactly is an Angel?

Imagine if you had an action figure that you could customize it's appearance and abilities and then pit against your friends'. If you had one of those you would have yourself an angel. In the anime, Angels are all human looking and fight hand to hand..no weapons, no powers, just hand to hand. Well for the sake of making things interesting and less bland I'm adding in all kinds of different items and powers for Angels.

Aren't all these rules and numbers going to get confusing and limit my role-fighting?

Well as far as being confusing, most of the math is left up to the judges. As for the later, I did my best to keep the system so it was loose and could cover pretty much any situation. Unfortunately I could only go so far without making too many rules so certain situations will have to be left up to judges.
